Focus Financial Partners Inc., an interdependent partnership of wealth management, business management, and related financial services firms, announced today that two Focus network firms, Lake Street Advisors Group, LLC and Edge Capital Group, LLC, have each entered into definitive agreements to join SCS Financial, Focus Partners Family Office and OCIO, headquartered in Boston, MA. Both transactions are expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. By joining forces with SCS, Lake Street and Edge will gain access to SCS’ deep investment management capabilities as well as expanded family office services, enriching the value proposition that each firm offers to its respective clients.

SCS Financial a leading wealth and investment management firm for ultra-high-net-worth families and institutions and part of Focus Financial Partners, today announced the appointment of Lane MacDonald to the role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Chair of the SCS Investment Committee, effective July 1. Mr. MacDonald is an esteemed financial services leader with nearly three decades of experience in advising clients and investment teams, and his appointment as CIO marks SCS’ latest step in growing and enhancing its investment platform, and the leadership behind it, to benefit the firm’s clients.

Clare joined SCS Financial Services in 2024 as a Managing Director in the Private Client Group with over 13 years of experience in wealth management. Clare works with clients to develop and implement customized investment and estate planning strategies that achieve their personal goals and objectives.

Tim joined SCS Financial Services in 2024. He came to SCS from the M&A team at Focus Financial Partners with the mandate to co-lead Focus Investment Partners. The group’s goal is to curate and deliver a high quality, education-focused alternative investment program for a variety of institutional investors and the broader Focus Financial partnership.
